Mary went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2025 peacefully at her daughter’s residence. Ms. Deshotels was born on March 22, 1942, to Odile Dronett and Horace Kibodeaux. Her late husband was Joseph R. Deshotels. Mary was of the Catholic faith. She was always the caretaker for many people including neighbors, friends, and family members. She will be missed dearly. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Collettia Giroir (Sam), Veronica Martin (Ray), Sue Seal, Kevin, Katrina; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and her life-long friend Linda Campbell.

Her funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and a rosary recited at 11 a.m. The burial will be at Orange Grove Cemetery following the service. The family would like to thank Kevin for many years of caring for their mother. They also thank Heart of Hospice for their care and support since her recent diagnosis.
