Courtney James Doty, 38, of Lake Charles passed away Friday, May 3, 2024, at a local residence.  He was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles and was born on Aug. 8, 1985 to Bryan and ReBecca Doty. 

Courtney was a “Jack of all trades” and used those skills to help anyone that needed work to be done. He had a heart of gold and loved to cook, fish and spend time with nieces, nephews and family. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, ReBecca Harmon (James); father, Bryan Doty (Anna); grandmother, Ouida Doty; grandparents, Napoleon Harmon (Betty); brothers, Wade Doty (Melissa), Koty Doty, James Michael Sallier; sisters, Krista Cupp (Michael), Alicia Doty (Dusty), Anya Eaves, Sara Doty; nieces and nephews, Hunter Doty, Brooklynn Benoit, Michael Shane Cupp, Trevor Doty, Victoria Cupp, Jasmyn Kirl, Colton Doty, Gunnar Doty, Beaux Doty, Gauge Doty, and Carter Doty. 

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Gerald Doty; grandfather, Rodney Johnson, and grandmother, Helen Johnson. 

A time of visitation for family and friends will be Monday, May 13, 2024, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA 70605.  The family has entrusted cremation arrangements following the visitation to Johnson Funeral Home.
