Barbara Ann Johnson, 75, of Lake Charles, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at her residence.  Barbara was born in Lake Charles on Feb. 20, 1949, to Hazelton and Florence Fontenot.  She grew up in Southwest Louisiana and was a 1967 Graduate of Kinder High School and also received her Bachelor Degree from McNeese University.

Barbara retired from Crowley Maritime Corp.  She loved sewing and making quilts for family and friends. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Kenneth Johnson; daughter, Dana Barbre-Albert and husband, Patrick Albert; son, William Edward (Bill) Barbre Jr.; stepchildren, Mick Johnson and wife, Melanie Crader; Bethany McNeese; sister, Catherine Thompson and husband, Jackie Thompson; brothers, Hazleton Pierre (T-Boy) Fontenot Jr., and William M. (Bill) Fontenot and wife, Judy Fontenot; mother-in-law; Billie Johnson; grandchildren, Dylan McNeese and wife, Ashley; Lauren Buller and husband, Cody, and Merit Johnson; great-grandchild, and Tripp McNeese.

Preceded by her parents, Hazleton Pierre Fontenot and Florence Bell Fontenot.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA 70605.  Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday also at Johnson Funeral Home.  Burial will follow the funeral at Consolata Cemetery.
