Dec. 24, 1930~May 15, 2024
Raburn “Ms. Rae” LeDoux passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 93 in Lake Charles.
She was a loving, gentle and kind woman who enjoyed taking care of people. She remembered everyone’s birthday and made people feel special. She also loved backrubs!
She was born in Grand Prairie but resided in Lake Charles for most of her life. Her family spoke Cajun French and she had to learn English in school. She graduated from high school as valedictorian in 1947. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and was a devout Christian.
She managed Pat’s of Henderson in Lake Charles for 32 years, until she was 84. She attributed that experience to keeping her young at heart. The truth is that she had the energy of five people and didn’t know how to slow down.
She was a good and decent woman who had been touched by grief more than once, yet she remained optimistic and brave. She once told me that as long as you find things to be grateful for you will never grow bitter.
She is survived by her son, Carl Matthew LeDoux of Lake Charles; granddaughter, Erykca Violeta Tinh (Robert) of Cypress, Texas; and great grandchildren, Caiden, Brooklyn, Ryland and Brixton.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Lee LeDoux; son, Philip Reed LeDoux; sisters, Gerdie, Toot, Mim, Rounnie and Abbie Rose. Mom was the last of her tribe. She had literally outlived everyone.
As to her wishes, graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday May 21, 2024 at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
She will be missed…
