Anna Ruth Mouton Leger

Anna Ruth Mouton Leger was born on Dec. 5, 1933, and she passed away on May 13, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Leger served as a catechism teacher, and as a lector for many years at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church. She was a member of the Altar Society and served on the Parish Council.
Those left to cherish Mrs. Leger’s memory are her children, Donna Brown (Keith Soileau), Henry Leger Jr. (Phyllis), Lisa Girot (Joe), Faye LeJune (Mark), Nancy Pavlas (Bernard), William Neal Leger (Renee); 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and sister, Jeanette Rice.
Mrs. Leger was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Henry Joseph Leger Sr.; an infant son, Peter Andrew Leger; parents, Fernest and Agnes Mouton; siblings, Roy Mouton, Evelyn Nordyke, Elsie Johnston, Jerry Jones, and Dorothy Powell.
The family would like to thank the staff at Holly Hill for the care given to their mother during her six year residency at the home. They would also like to thank the staff at Amedisys Hospice for the care they gave their mother for the past several months and up to her last days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Leger’s honor to the LaSalette Altar Society or please plant a tree in her memory.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South. Father John Welch will officiate. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Visitation will resume at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Thursday morning at 8 a.m. until time to leave for the church. The family will receive guests at the K.C. hall on 923 Tana St. Sulphur, La. after services.
