Jennifer Ruth Richard was born on May 26, 1949 in Lake Charles, La. and spent her formative years in Houston, Texas before returning to and making her home in Lake Charles. She transitioned to her heavenly Father on May 7, 2024.
Jennifer lived by the motto, “You’ll never know whether you can accomplish a task or project unless you try.” This belief fueled her many endeavors and inspired those around her to take leaps of faith in their lives.
Jennifer was lovingly preceded in death by her father, Thilmon Richard.
Her legacy of love, leadership, and service will forever be cherished by her devoted daughter, Francheska Lilly (Willie) of Baytown, Texas; her loving mother, Annie Richard of Lake Charles, La.; and five siblings, Margie Pete and Pastor Ellery A. Richard (Sheila) both of Houston, Texas, Priscilla Deville (Ronald) and Linda Stevens both of Lake Charles, La., and Pastor Warren D. Richard (Jacqueline) of Baton Rouge, La.; her grandchildren, Roneika Cotlone, Keadija Farr, Nya Williams, Donte Williams, Lizette Gonzalez and Amber Brooks; great-grandchildren, Reign Henderson, Kasei Farr, Ariana Randle, and Jaxon Almanza, and a host of bonus daughters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jennifer’s unwavering spirit and generous heart have left an unforgettable mark on all who knew her.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2024 Pasadena Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Stevens’ Funeral Home. Visitation Saturday 9 a.m.
