Marie Marshall, 83, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in a local care center.

She was a native of Leesville and had been resident of Sulphur for over 50 years. Marie retired as an X-ray Assistant with West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital and worked for a local security company. She had enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, family get togethers, going to high school football games, and being outdoors, especially camping at Toledo Bend. 

Survivors include her son, Steve Marshall of Vinton; her siblings, Erlean Marshall of Sulphur, Therman Nash of Burr Ferry, and Herman Nash of Benton, and Suzanne Nash, Georgia Faye Nash, and Lillian Faye Nash, all of Leesville; her granddaughter, Christine Marie Marshall of Ragley; and a great-grandson, Eli Morgan. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harva Leyon Marshall; her children, Tina Marshall and Carl Marshall; her parents, Ollie and Elsie Nash; and a sister, Rethel Brister.

A Celebration of Marie’s Life will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 28, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home led by Hixson’s Celebrant, Jody Barrilleaux. Burial will be in Castor Baptist Church Cemetery in Leesville. Visitation is from 5 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Sunday in the funeral home.
