Betsy Marie “Bet” Williams, 69, was born Nov. 7, 1954 in Lake Charles, La. to Joel Williams and Helen Manuel Williams.  A lifelong resident of Lake Charles, she was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.  She was a 1973 graduate of W.O. Boston High School, and attended Southern University and McNeese State University.  Ms. Williams departed this life Wednesday, April 17, 2024.  She leaves to cherish her memories her father, Joel Williams, and three sisters, Josephine Hawkins, Linda (Daniel) Batiste, and Barbara LeDay.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Williams; sister, Jackie Williams; brother-in-law, Robert Hawkins, and nephew, Ryan LeDay.  Her visitation will be Friday, April 26, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., with Rosary at 10:30 a.m., at James Funeral Home.  A funeral mass will follow at 12:30  p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church located at 1102 Mill Street in Lake Charles.  Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
