Frances Arlene Keys Ware

Frances ‘Arlene’ Keys Ware died on April 3, 2024, after a difficult battle with cancer. She is now with her beloved husband Robert ‘Bob’ Ware in heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Edna Keys; brothers, Stanley and Melvin Keys; daughter, Melissa Ware; and stepson Robert Ware Jr.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Howard Sockrider and Dr. Marianna Sockrider of Pearland, Texas; granddaughter, Laura Sockrider of Austin Texas; brother, Vernon Keys; step-daughter-in-law, Kathy Hodges, and extended family.
Arlene was born Aug. 15,1941 in Beaumont, Texas and lived her whole life in Lake Charles, La. She owned a cottage shop ‘Happy Handmades’. She was a skilled seamstress, avid gardener, and gifted watercolor artist. She sang in the church choir and was an active volunteer.
A public memorial service and reception celebrating Arlene’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on April 27, 2024 at J.E. Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, La. Her family will begin receiving friends at 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. A private family graveside gathering will follow.
