Michael Lynn Bourgeois was born Nov. 9, 1951, in the hallway of St. Patrick’s Hospital in Lake Charles, La., and died March 3, 2022, in Mckinney, Texas.
Mike grew up in Lake Charles, graduated from LaGrange High School in 1970 and McNeese State University in 1974.
Mike retired from Bayer/Covestro as a Safety Engineer, but continued his work of helping anyone he met, especially with tech support.
Mike loved computers, trivia, motorcycles, scuba diving, traveling, and especially his family. Mike always had time for a story or a joke.
Mike is survived by his wife, Brenda Freund; his children, Ellen LeGros (Jeffrey), Stephanie Harrison (Jeffery), Sam Bourgeois (Karla), stepson Graham Weedon (Jackie); five grandchildren; siblings Sandi Hartman, Susan McMillin, and Ted Spell (Gerry); sister-in-law Carol Ward (Steve); special cousin Audrey Simon Champagne; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Faye Bourgeois, and his sisters Kathy Wilson and Ann Trahan.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022, 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church (812 Kirkman St) in Lake Charles, La.
