The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Vehicle Crimes Investigative Unit detectives has charged a Sulphur man in the theft of eight catalytic converters stolen from vehicles parked at a business on Coach Williams Drive.

Spokesperson Kayla Vincent said detectives obtained video surveillance from the business and were able to identify the suspect as Jeffrey A. Nunez, 29. Vincent said VCIU detectives interviewed Nunez at his residence two days after the thefts were reported and he confirmed he stole the catalytic converters from the vehicles at the business.

Detectives were able to locate multiple catalytic converters at Nunez’s residence that matched those that were stolen, Vincent said.
