Deputies surveyed the parish after the storm to assess damage and road closures in rural areas.

La. 99 at Mouton Road was temporarily closed due to a downed power line. Several streets in Jennings were also closed to allow crews to remove downed power lines, broken utility poles, and fallen trees, as well as clear debris from the roadways.

More than 1,300 households throughout the parish experienced power outages because of storm damage. Internet and cell phone outages were also reported.

The Jennings Fire Department responded to two fires and multiple reports of downed power lines and trees.

In the Hathaway area, multiple electrical lines were down and poles were broken, which led to the closure of Hathaway High School. All other schools in the parish delayed bus routes and opening to ensure safe transportation for students and to allow roadways to be cleared. All schools were open by 9 a.m.
