The Jennings Festival Association’s annual “Touch A Truck” event is coming up this weekend, March 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Louisiana Oil and Gas Park in Jennings.

This free, family-friendly event invited children of all ages to explore and interact with a variety of public safety vehicles and heavy construction equipment.

Children will have the opportunity to climb on board, get behind the wheel, meet the operators, and learn about the functions of these life-sized vehicles, according to Sam Onellion, of the Jennings Festival Association.

“We want to encourage families to take their kids out and show them some of the emergency vehicles and other vehicles they might see around the community,” Onellion said. “It’s also an opportunity for the children to see vehicles they may have never seen before and get up close and comfortable with them.”

Vehicles on display will include fire trucks, police cars, dump trucks, tractors, the bookmobile, speciality cars and more. There will also be fun jumps and Rita’s BBQ food truck.

“It’s going to be a very beautiful day on Saturday, and if families are looking for fun activities or want to learn more about some of the companies with the vehicles, they can come down, ask questions and see some really cool vehicles up close,” Onellion said.
