An Allen Parish grand jury has indicted a Fenton man who investigators say caused the fatal drug overdose of an Elton woman in November 2021.
Corey Deville, 38, was indicted late last week on a second-degree murder charge in connection with the overdose death of Mariah K. Guillory, 27, according to Allen Parish Sheriff Doug Hebert III.
Deville is accused of supplying pills to Guillory, who died from an overdose at a residence just north of Elton, Hebert said.
“Apparently through some phone records and other information we received, we were able to identify Deville as the person who provided the narcotics to Guillory,” Hebert said, noting that it took investigators time to receive the phone records.
Deville was arrested Thursday following an indictment handed down in the 33rd Judicial District Court in Oberlin.
He is being held in the Allen Parish Jail on a $500,000 bond.
