Friday is expected to be cool and dry across Southwest Louisiana, with morning lows below freezing in parts of east Texas and central Louisiana.

Roger Erickson, warning coordination meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s Lake Charles office, said there is a marginal threat for severe storms on Saturday.

That could extend into Sunday across the region, Erickson said, though the threat remains marginal.

Friday’s temperatures are expected to reach as high as 57 and as low as 27. Saturday’s temperatures will be much higher, topping out at about 74.

After a dry and cool Monday and Tuesday, small rain chances return for Wednesday and Thursday next week, he said.
