Fat Pat’s to open Wednesday

Fat Pat’s, a full-service restaurant and sports bar will open Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 2620 Dillard Loop in Lake Charles. The menu offers sandwiches, salads, wraps and an interesting burger assortment including a peanut butter bacon burger. There are more than 30 televisions and two-for-one mimosas, beer and margaritas.

Books-A-Million reopens

After being displaced since August 2020 to the Prien Lake Mall, Books-A-Million is back at 2934 Ryan St.

The Joe Muggs café is back, too.

“Our customers have been wonderful,” says Assistant General Manager Casey Butterfield. “They have shown us support through it all, and that’s all we could have asked for.”

In the newly restored space, the shelves are stocked, the coffee is brewing, and the associates are eager to welcome customers inside to tackle all of their holiday shopping needs, according to Butterfield.

“This Books-A-Million isn’t like it used to be,” Butterfield said. “We have new fixtures, a new café, and a whole new layout.”
