Kevin Lawrence Leveque

Kevin Lawrence Leveque, 76, of Lake Charles, La., passed away at 1:07 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, in a local hospital.
Mr. Leveque was born April 29, 1946, in Lake Charles, La. He attended Landry Memorial High School and was 1964 graduate of Lake Charles High School. He also attended Seminary and graduated from Los Angeles College of Design with his Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. He lived a number of years in New Orleans and Lafayette and seventeen years in Santa Fe, NM before moving back to Lake Charles in 1995. He was previously commissioned by the National Park Services, Catholic Diocese of New Mexico, owned and operated an advertising agency and briefly worked for the City of Santa Fe. He was also the owner of Sign Design, a company where he made hand carved wooden signs. Mr. Leveque is most remembered as an accomplished artist, with numerous shows throughout the years. His works can be found at www.fineartamerica.com. Second to painting, he was passionate about music, writing songs and playing piano, guitar, clarinet and drums. Mr. Leveque had a strong Catholic faith and enjoyed the traditional Tridentine Latin Rite. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Cathedral and St. Philomena Chapel in Morse, La.
Mr. Leveque is survived by his wife of 22 years, Patricia “Pat” Bordelon (Leveque); daughter, Osh of Lafayette; stepsons, Dylan Joseph Carraway Tête of New Orleans, La., and John Thomas Tête (Bridget) of Florida; sisters, Claire Romero of Breaux Bridge, Denise Breland of Lake Charles, Julia Leveque Bordelon (Stan) of Big Lake, and Mary Cornwell (Roger) Sulphur, LA; brother, Dr. Chris Michael Leveque (Tess) of Friendswood, Texas; grandchildren, Bruce Tête, Gus Tête, and Deschen Tête; along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean Adele Welsh Leveque and James Henry Leveque Jr.; and brother, James H. Leveque III.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Father Rommel Tolentino will officiate. Burial will follow in Orange Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
