Lake Charles College Prep clinched its first district championship, claiming the outright District 4-3A title with a 21-0 win over Washington-Marion on Friday.
Prep (8-1, 5-0) clinched a share of the title with a win over Iowa last week.
The Trailblazers defense dominated W-M (3-6, 1-4), which lost starting quarterback MarQuez Chagois to injury in the first quarter.
The Blazers took a 14-0 halftime lead behind a dominant defensive performance, allowing 11 yards of offense through the first two quarters.
Solomon Lewis opened the scoring in the first quarter, taking a short pass 5 yards around end for a TD.
The Blazers doubled their lead in the second quarter on a 13-yard pass from Dillon Simon to Glynn Johnson.
D’Marcus Miller capped the scoring with a 4-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
W-M moved the ball in the second half with Carrington McClinton gaining more than 70 yards in the half.
W-M put together a threatening drive in the third quarter, but Prep stuffed a fourth-and-goal play from the 1 on the first play of the fourth quarter to keep the Charging Indians off the scoreboard.
Miller intercepted a pass and Dylan Vincent had two sacks to lead the Blazers defense.
McClinton had an interception for W-M and Kalip Gibson recovered a fumble as the defense kept the Charging Indians in the game.
The game was marred by a postgame incident in which players and fans had to be separated.
Prep called a pair of timeouts and threw two passes in the final 2 minutes of the game with the outcome decided.
The teams didn’t shake hands after the game.
