Police: Teen kills another teen in his driveway

The Associated Press

BATON ROUGE — A Louisiana teenager who authorities say shot and killed another teenager in his driveway has been arrested.

The Advocate reports 19-year-old Tyreece Holliday was arrested Thursday and charged with illegal use of weapons and second-degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Deon Womack.

A witness told Baton Rouge police that Womack was walking down the street with another friend on Tuesday when they saw Holliday walk outside with a black rifle. Authorities say Womack told the friend to keep walking so that he could talk to Holliday. The friend continued walking until he heard gunshots and turned around to see Womack lying on the ground as Holliday fled.

Police found Womack’s body in Holliday’s driveway. The body was surrounded by .22-caliber bullet casings which were found inside Holliday’s home.

It’s unclear if Holliday has a lawyer.
