Fugitive arrested on theft warrant

Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s deputies served an arrest warrant Monday, August 14, 2017, on a Marshall Joseph Richard, 27, of 309 Nemento Street, Lake Arthur. Richard was wanted for the theft of a motorbike. On Saturday, February 4, 2017, Deputies were dispatched to the Lake Arthur Police Department in reference to a theft of a motorbike which occurred at 2191 Eighth Street, Lake Arthur, LA. Upon arrival, Deputies spoke with the victim advised earlier that day she noticed her mini Monster Motorbike was missing.  The victim said she posted on social media about her missing bike and someone referred her to a Facebook page where the victim discovered a picture of a man on her motorbike.

Detectives investigating the Theft spoke to the man seen in the photo and several others seen with the motorbike by witnesses.  A warrant was obtained for Richard, in April 2017 for Theft of a motor vehicle.

 

On August 14, 2017,Detectives were notified that Marshall Richard had been taken into custody. Richard is incarcerated in the parish jail on a $40,000 bond.
