Chaney Trucking and Developing has been awarded the demolition bid for the St. Louis Catholic High School property on Bank Street.

The bid, valued at $494,000, will cover the demolition of the Vianney House, the Academic Building, and the Krajicek Gym.

The project is the first step in the school’s plan to sale the property to the St. Nicholas Center for Children.

“This is an important milestone for St. Louis Catholic High School,” said Principal Kelly DeMolle. “We are excited to see the Bank Street Property transition into new hands, and we are confident that the St. Nicholas Center will maintain the historical integrity of the area. At the same time, this clears the way for our school to move forward with our plans to relocate to the new Corbina Road Property, which will provide modernized facilities for the continued success of our students.”

DeMolle said Vianney House has already come down.

“Work is being done now for Krajicek gym to come down during Christmas break, while the students are off campus, since this is the building closest in proximity to our temporary campus buildings,” DeMolle said.

The school will eventually be relocated to its Corbina Road property with state-of-the-art facilities designed to enhance the learning experience for students and faculty.
