Stolen Vehicle Pursuit

On Tuesday April 10, 2018 at approximately 1:45pm, patrol officers with the Lake Charles Police Department were dispatched to the area of Lake and West McNeese Street, in reference to a report of a stolen vehicle.  Upon arrival in the area where officers observed the suspect vehicle north bound on Lake Street. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop using lights and sirens with the vehicle at Lake and Sale streets.  The suspect vehicle immediately fled east bound on Sale Street.

The pursuit turned north bound onto Ryan Street.  The driver of the suspect vehicle, later identified as Cody Davis of Lake Charles, continued to drive at a high rate of speed striking two uninvolved vehicles as he fled.  The pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle struck a third vehicle near the intersection of Ryan and Eddy Streets.  The suspect driver, Davis, was placed under arrest at the scene.  As a result of this, one driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

  • Arrested: Cody Davis, Black Male, 27 years of age Lake Charles, Louisiana
  • Charges: Obstruction of Justice, Aggravated Flight from an officer, Possession of a stolen Firearm, Possession of stolen things, Hit and Run, Careless Operation, No Driver’s License and Parole Detainer.  He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center, with No Bond.
