Comedy, four-course dinner, music part of Foundation event

If you’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to get a little glammed up and dance the night away, the “On the Town” celebration Friday evening should fill the bill.

<div class="Content"><p class="indent">The Foundation at Lake Charles Memorial is putting on the event, which will take place 7-11 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom at L’Auberge Casino Resort.

<p class="indent">Featuring an open bar and four-course dinner, cocktail attire is requested.

<p class="indent">Musical entertainment will include Chapter One performing Motown Gold as well as Leif Pedersen’s 1944 Big Band and a performance by comedian Pete Barbutti.

<p class="indent">Multi-faceted, Pedersen helps to run the Foundation at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital by day and performs with his band by night. Favorite tunes from the Big Band-era will be on tap at the “On the Town” event.

<p class="indent">As for Motown Gold, you’ll be right at home if you like dancing or singing along to songs made famous by The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Four Tops, and the Temptations.

<p class="indent">Some may remember Barbutti from his multiple appearances on “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson,” 1971-1992. Barbutti continues to perform stand-up comedy and also plays the piano and accordion. He often performs his routine of sound effects on the accordion for audiences, including a train whistle, Niagara Falls, mosquitoes, thunder, and more.

<p class="indent">Tickets are $125 per person and all tax-deductible proceeds benefit The Foundation at Lake Charles Memorial.
