Oak Middle School student charged with terrorizing
A 13-year-old boy was arrested Monday morning after making a threat to bring a gun to Oak Park Middle School to “shoot up” the campus.
Calcaasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said deputies were dispatched to the school at about 10:30 a.m. in reference to a threat.
Vincent said the boy confirmed to deputies he made the threat.
He was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with terrorizing-menacing.
CPSO Detective William Vaughan is the lead investigator on this case. The Calcasieu Parish School Board assisted in the investigation.
