Auto-pedestrian fatality

Special to the American Press

A Lake Charles woman who was hit by a car last week in the parking lot of the Country Club Kroger store has died of her injuries, authorities said.

Lake Charles police Sgt. Lt. Richard Harrell said 75-year-old Linda Ledoux stumbled while walking in the parking lot at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound in front of the store.

Harrell said Ledoux was found unresponsive and was transported to a local hospital where she died on Friday.

The Lake Charles Police Department’s Traffic Division and the Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate, Harrell said.
