Moss Bluff native in quarterfinals of Greatest Baker Competition

Moss Bluff native and resident Terri Fontenot, Terri Bakes Academy, has qualified for the quarterfinals of the Greatest Baker Competition. Winners will be announced at the end of this year, giving Southwest Louisiana residents plenty of time to support one of their own.

“Competitors are from all over the United States and divided into different groups,” Fontenot said.

Fifty-thousand initially entered the competition and 575 remain to compete for the chance to win $10,000 and a feature in Bake from Scratch magazine.

Fontenot, who teaches baking and cake decorating to kids in her home kitchen, plans to buy a larger oven and more equipment for those classes.

Voters can vote once every 24 hours for free or by tax-deductible donation. Proceeds benefit families dealing with pediatric cancer.
