What boys team was most impressive last week?

WA: Lake Charles College Prep went 3-0, scoring a pair of wins over 4A teams DeRidder and Beau Chene. The Blazers got a boost with the addition of football player Tayvonn Alexander, who joins Caleb Robinston to form a big and talented front line.

RA: Washington-Marion is back on track after starting the season 1-6. The Charging Indians have won five consecutive games, including three last week. The best win was a 67-63 overtime win over Division IV No. 3 Hamilton Christian on the road.

Which girls team was most impressive last week?

WA: LaGrange went 3-1, with quality wins over St. Louis, Florien and Warren Easton, the defending Class 4A champions. Aasia Sam is providing the buckets and Jeriah Warren is denying them on the defensive end.

RA: Lake Arthur went 4-0 last week to improve to 15-0. Lake Arthur capped the week with a 66-27 win over Kaplan in the Iowa/Mallette Buildings tournament championship game led by Deonna and Diamond Brister, who combined for 22 points.

Who was the player of the week?

WA: Thomas Scruggs of Welsh scored 85 points in three games to lead Welsh to the Iowa tournament title last week, including 32 points in a championship game win over Lake Arthur.

RA: St. Louis freshman wing Myca Trail continues to shine in her first varsity season. She averaged more than 15 points a game as the Saints went 3-0 at the Sam Houston Rumble in the Bluff.””THREE Point Shot
