Brother of murder victim attacked

Family believes incident ‘possibly’ related to KK’s Corner case from 1997

The brother of a man killed 20 years ago along with two others at what was then known as KK’s Corner convenience store, was injured over the weekend in what he called an “unprovoked attack” in the parking garage of a local casino.

Lane LeBouef is the brother of Marty LeBouef, who was murdered along with Stacie Reeves and Nicole Guidry on July 6, 1997, at the store south of Lake Charles.

The bodies of the three victims were found in the store’s freezer, authorities said.

LeBouef has been actively trying to get the case reopened because he and his family believe that despite Thomas Frank Cisco being convicted of manslaughter in the case, they feel others are involved in the murders. Cisco is serving a 90-year prison sentence.

On a Facebook page called “Remembering KK’s Corner 20 Years Later,” LeBouef posted about an incident he said took place Saturday night in the parking garage of Golden Nugget Casino, and included a photo of apparent injuries to his face.

The post said: “Random, violent unprovoked attack by several individuals in the Golden Nugget Parking Garage. They brought a pipe or a bat and jumped me from behind. Fractured bones in face and jaw.”

Laura LeBouef Duhon, LeBouef’s sister, told the American Press on Monday that LeBouef may have to have surgery for his injuries.

Duhon said LeBouef, along with others, had been attending a work-related event at the casino just prior to the incident.

She said there was no robbery and nothing was taken, leading family to believe that the incident could “possibly” be related to the case.

Duhon said her brother did report the incident to Lake Charles Police and was waiting to hear from an investigator.

LeBouef has previously said on the Facebook page that he and his family hope that the “truth comes out regarding the murders.”

“I believe with all my heart that there was a cover-up,” LeBouef has said.
