Fight ends in shooting by mom
Woman charged with attempted murder
JENNINGS — A Jennings woman was arrested Wednesday on a charge of attempted second-degree murder after a shooting at a store near the intersection of Spencer and South Main streets.
Kathleen Mouton turned herself in to police after an arrest warrant was issued.
Police Chief Danny Semmes said the shooting happened at about 2:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a store after a fight between two men.
“After the fight one of the subject’s mother came to confront the victim,” Semmes said. “At some point she pulled a handgun out and shot him.”
The victim, whose name hasn’t been released, was shot several times and was flown to an area trauma center, where he underwent surgery.
All those involved were age 21 or older, Semmes said.
