Two Sulphur women plead guilty to stealing from employer
Two Sulphur women pleaded guilty Friday in state district court to stealing more than $150,000 from their employer from 2008 to 2014.
Donya Vallette Louviere, 45, and Susan Kay Mire, 55, each pleaded guilty to five counts of monetary instrument abuse.
Judge Mike Canaday said sentencing will be March 8, giving the women time to pay back their former employer.
Mire, the office manager, and Louviere, an accounts payable clerk, used company credit cards to pay personal debts, and issued themselves extra paychecks.
Louviere and Mire agreed to each pay $210,000 to their former employer. Russell Stutes, attorney for the employer, said he received a check for $110,000 from Mire on Friday.
Stutes said lawsuits involving the women will be dropped if they make full restitution.
