Authorities seek tips on truck, trailer theft

Beauregard Crime Stoppers is seeking information on a truck and stock trailer that were stolen and damaged over the weekend.

According to Beauregard Parish Chief Detective Mark Herford, deputies responded to a report of an abandoned truck and trailer near a roadway in the Dry Creek area. Upon arrival, Herford said, deputies learned that the vehicle had been stolen from a residence in the Kipling area earlier that morning.

Surveillance footage from a nearby business showed two suspects inside the vehicle and trailer, Herford said.

When deputies recovered the vehicle and trailer, it was noted that the suspects had severely damaged the vehicle before abandoning it. Biological samples were collected from the vehicle and Herford said those will be submitted to the Southwest Louisiana Crime Lab for analysis.

Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 463-3281. All calls are confidential.
