Port Wonder Family Fun Day scheduled Saturday

The city of Lake Charles, is teaming up with the Children’s Museum of Lake Charles, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Calcasieu Parish School Board, Visit Lake Charles, Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, the Port of Lake Charles and Sasol to present Port Wonder Family Fun Day on Saturday, June 3, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Lake Charles Civic Center Contraband Room, 900 Lakeshore Dr.

This free and open to the public event will offer a sneak peek into what a visit to Port Wonder will look like once construction is complete on the lakefront development project.

Port Wonder Family Fun Day will feature a variety of fun, educational, musical and interactive STEM activities for children. Games, refreshments and a host of other activities will also be available. Attendees will get a look at what exhibits will look like in the all-new state-of-the-art children’s museum and science and education center, both of which will be housed in Port Wonder.
