RA: Lake Arthur beat Class B No. 8 Hathaway 84-57 and Sabine (Texas) Pass 49-33 49-33 to extend its win streak to 10. The Tigers are 19-2 and No. 4 in the latest Class 2A power ratings.

Which girls team was most impressive?

WA: LaGrange went 2-1 in the top flight of the Sugar Bowl tournament, picking up wins over McKinley and Enterprise of Alabama.

RA: Merryville went 2-0 to improve to 4-0 in District 4-1A and has won eight of its last 10 games after starting the season 2-7.

Name a player of the week.

WA: Aaliyah Williams scored 20 points to lead the Saints to an 87-67 road win at Washington-Marion, which gave the Saints sole possession of first in District 4-3A.

RA: Senior guard Jameica James started the new year right with her two highest scoring games of the season with 14 points against St. Edmund and 19 in a 71-37 win over Basile. Elton is off to a 4-0 start in District 4-1A and has won seven consecutive games.””THREE Point Shot
