Authorities: Man accused of pretending to be officer

The Associated Press

RACELAND — A security guard who authorities say pulled a woman over and pretended to be a law enforcement officer has been arrested.

The Houma Courier reports 23-year-old Caleb Lymous was arrested Monday and charged with impersonation of a peace officer.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office Lt. Brennan Matherne says on July 6, Lymous stopped a woman just after midnight on U.S. 90 and asked her to step out of her vehicle. He was wearing a light blue shirt and navy blue pants.

Lymous asked the woman questions and took her driver’s license back to his vehicle, which had red and blue lights on the dashboard. Lymous returned the items and left. As Lymous passed her, the woman realized he wasn’t in a law enforcement vehicle and called 911.

It’s unclear if Lymous has a lawyer.
