Texas man arrested in LC for kidnapping

A Texas man was arrested here Saturday after a woman called 911 around 2 a.m. from a local service station and said she had been kidnapped.

Juan Carlos Saucedo, 27, of Liberty, is being held in the Calcasieu Correctional Center while authorities here and in Texas investigate the alleged kidnapping.

The victim also told authorities she was sexually assaulted after being kidnapped in Liberty but before arriving in Southwest Louisiana.

Police went to a Valero service station on La. 14 and said they found a female who had run from the suspect’s vehicle and into the station to use a phone to call for help.

Sgt. Jeffrey Keenum of the Lake Charles Police Department said officers located the suspect in the back parking lot of the station.

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and Lake Charles police are investigating.

Judge Clayton Davis set Saucedo’s bond at $100,000.
