Cassidy headed to Israel

U. S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-Louisiana, is headed to Israel on Leader Chuck Schumer’s bipartisan CODEL.

While in Israel, they will meet with the new unity government including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Benny Gantz, as well as President Isaac Herzog.

The visit comes on the heels of the CODEL to China and South Korea.

While at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, Cassidy spoke to Israeli President Isaac Herzog via phone alongside Senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY), John Kennedy (R-LA), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), Mike Crapo (R-ID), and Jon Ossoff (D-GA). The senators reiterated U.S. support for Israel.

In the wake of the horrific Iran-backed terrorist attacks on Israel, Cassidy has demanded President Joe Biden hold the IRGC accountable for their numerous violations of nuclear agreements.

Earlier this week, Cassidy called on President Biden and the State Department to immediately rescind the waivers that allowed Iranian funds to be converted and moved to more accessible bank accounts, as well as work with Qatar to immediately freeze the accounts containing these funds.
