Which area baseball team had the best week?

WA: South Beauregard won its first three District 4-3A games, beating Iowa twice and Westlake once. The Golden Knights allowed seven runs.

RA: Grand Lake rebounded from its first loss with a pair of District 4-1A wins over Oberlin and East Beauregard. The Hornets’ pitching 
staff of Devin David, Kade Massey, Garrrett Walker and Kylin Broussard allowed one earned run and four hits in 14 innings.

Which softball team was best.

WA: Barbe won four District 3-5A games to extend its winning streak to 28 games. The Bucs outscored opponents 44-4 in wins over Acadiana, Sulphur and a doubleheader sweep over Lafayette.

RA: Merryville grabbed a pair of wins, including 17-1 win over East Beauregard on Thursday to improve to 5-0 in District 4-1A. The Panthers have won 10 of their last 11 games.

Name an athlete of the week.

WA: DeQuincy’s Hadley Cooley picked up a shutout over Vinton on Tuesday then homered and drove in five runs in DeQuincy’s crucial District 5-2A win over Rosepine.

RA: South Beauregard senior first baseman Morgan Eaves had a big week with four home runs and nine RBIs in six games while the Lady K’s went 4-2.””American Press Triple Play
