Glitter and Garland Christmas Market returns to Lake Arthur

LAKE ARTHUR — With the holiday season fast approaching, area crafters, artisans and bakers are busily preparing to present their best during the 9th annual Glitter and Garland Christmas market event.

The shopping extravaganza will be held 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20 in Lake Arthur Park. Admission and parking are free downtown.

“Glitter and Garland is a holiday-themed shopping event to help kickoff the holiday shopping season,” organizer Joanna Lejeune said.

The open-air market will feature more than 30 vendors displaying and selling an array of unique crafts and holiday gift ideas for everyone on your Christmas list, Lejeune said.

Items available for sale will include home decor, furniture, porch swings, yard decor, jewelry, personalized Christmas ornaments, cocoa bombs, floral arrangements and much more. There will also be French Macarons, fudge, divinity, decorated sugar cookies, gingerbread houses, gingerbread men, fruitcake and canned items.

In addition to the shopping, the crowd can enjoy the music of Karmic Souls and Ethan Wayne which will be performing throughout the day.

Children can create their own tie-dyed shirts or play in the park while their parents and grandparents shop.

Food booths will be selling pulled pork nachos, sausage po-boys and other sandwiches to the hungry festival crowd.

A black iron pot cook-off will also be held in conjunction with the event. Set-up begins at 7 a.m. at the Lake Arthur pavilion with judging at noon.
