Gallery by the Lake artists open latest exhibition today

Looking for an air-conditioned, free event this weekend? Get downtown for dinner at a favorite restaurant and a “showing.” Gallery by the Lake opens its latest exhibition with a reception Friday, July 14, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center second floor gallery.

“Visitors to the exhibition will be rewarded with a variety of themes and some never-before-exhibited pieces,” says Gallery by the Lake Secretary Judy Newman.

This show has it all, landscape to still life, graphite to acrylics to photography. Included are works from Angelle Boyette, Earl Broussard, Abigail Brumett, J.L. Carpenter, Pat Craft, Lerin Freyou, Debbie Lavergne, Judy Melott Newman, Dan Plummer, Marjan Richard, Christy Stipelcovich and Patsy Zwahlen. Most artists will be at the reception.

Gallery by the Lake is a non-profit whose artist members live in the SWLA/Southeast Texas region. The mission is to share and inspire the esthetic power of visual arts.

Much of the work will be marked for sale. The gallery is located at 1001 Ryan St. in Lake Charles, and the show runs through Saturday, Sept. 16. For information about the Gallery, visit https://www.gallerybythelake.org or email gallerybythelakeswla@gmail.com.
