Deputy making positive relationships in community

The hard work and dedication contributed daily for more than 20 years by Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Aaron Montgomery was rewarded recently when he was promoted to lieutenant and made public relations officer at the Bell City Law Enforcement Center.

Now Lt. Montgomery is responsible for the overall operations at the Bell City LEC — along with day-to-day happenings and community involvement in the Bell City and Hayes areas.

In January, Sheriff Tony Mancuso conducted Montgomery’s promotion ceremony at the Bell City LEC, where he said Montgomery has made a positive impact within the community.

“Our law enforcement centers around the parish are a way for the public to have access to some of the CPSO resources and assistance right in their own community, instead of having to travel to the main office,” Mancuso said.

“Deputy Montgomery was working in the Bell City and Hayes area prior to his promotion so I was pleased to promote him to lieutenant at their local LEC, where he can continue to make positive relationships and assist the public.”

Montgomery has served his entire law enforcement career at CPSO, having first begun working there in September 1998. Across his years of service, Montgomery has worked in several different divisions including corrections and on patrol.

Before his promotion last month, Montgomery worked as a safe school officer at Bell City High School.
