GoFundMe account set up for Joubert funerals

Tiphanie Senegar has organized a GoFundMe to raise money for the funeral and memorial services for her mother, Stephanie Joubert, and Gary Joubert, who died from injuries from a fatal house fire that occurred on Saturday.

Senegar said her mother lived her life with generosity at its core.

“My mother has a beautiful heart and soul,” said Senegar on the GoFundMe’s page. “My mother helped and loved every one, my mother was so full of life.”

The fire occurred at about 5:50 p.m. Feb. 4 at the residence in the 3000 block of General Pershing Drive.

The Lake Charles Fire Department responded with multiple units just before 6 p.m., and pulled three people out of the fire: Stephanie, Gary and Stephanie’s mother.

The three were rescued and transported to a local medical facility; Stephanie’s mother was med-lifted. There, Stephanie and Gary passed due to injuries caused by the fire.

LCDF Chief Delton Carter stated that the cause of the fire was electrical.

The GoFundMe goal is set at $5,000. As of yesterday, $240 from 7 donations has been raised, with donations ranging from $10 to $100.
