Murder suspect caught

Special to the American Press

A man suspected of murder in Topsy was arrested Thursday in Texas.

David Wade Clark, 28, was apprehended by Beaumont police following a short foot pursuit in a grocery store in Jefferson County, Texas, according to Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Chris Ivey.

Clark was wanted on a first-degree murder charge in connection with the death of Devin Marc Sanders, 33, last Friday in Topsy. Sanders’ body was found in front of his home at 267 Ieyoub Road after a neighbor spotted the body and called police.

Clark was booked into the Jefferson County Jail pending extradition to Louisiana, Ivey said.
