Man arrested in theft from soldier
JENNINGS — A fugitive wanted for felony theft was arrested Wednesday by the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Gabriel Brett Joseph, 47, of Lake Charles was arrested and booked into the parish jail on a theft charge. The charge stems from Joseph’s involvement in the theft of items from an Iowa residence in January 2019, according to Chief Deputy Chris Ivey.
Joseph and two others were hired to pack up and move the contents of a residence on Maverick Street in Iowa for a soldier who had been assigned to Fort Bragg.
Deputies recovered some items that had been pawned by Joseph and his co-workers, Ivey said.
