Suspect in Ragley robbery identified

The Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office has identified a “person of interest” in its investigation into a burglary and theft incident that occurred last month in Ragley.

Detectives are seeking information on the whereabouts of Bradley D. Spell, 31, who was allegedly identified from footage taken by a Ragley area business near the 15000 block on U.S. 171.

According to chief detective Mark Herford, the crime occurred at the business at approximately 2:30 a.m. on the morning after Christmas. Herford said that money was stolen from several washers and dryers located at the business.

Spell has a lengthy criminal record and currently has multiple active warrants for his arrest out of Calcasieu and Allen Parishes, Herford said, including two for contempt of court.

In March of last year, Spell was arrested by Calcasieu Parish deputies for stealing money from machines at a West McNeese Street apartment complex laundromat twice in the same day.

Upon that last arrest, Spell was believed to have also resided in the Florida area.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Beauregard Crimestoppers at 337-463-3281.

A reward for information is being offered.
