Get your ‘Bosco burger’ fix at Westlake fest

The Westlake Family Fun and Food Festival — and its famous “Bosco burger” — returns this weekend to St. John Bosco Catholic Church.

The three-day event will include live performances by Clayton Rougeau & Last Call, the Danny Dillon Band, LA Yard Dogs, Faithline, Frayed Soul, Chad Ryan, Shawn P. Saucier & LA Scramble Band and Mark Reeves & the Twisted X.

Organizer Milssa Thibodeaux said the festival, which will be open rain or shine, will feature great local food, carnival games, fun jumps and slides, kiddie train, pony rides, petting zoo and facepainting.

A raffle, arts and crafts booths, silent auction and bingo are also planned, she said.

“To entice your appetite, the festival offers some of the best food in the area such as funnel cakes, shrimp on a stick, boudin, sausage on a bun, crawfish etouffee, the world famous Bosco burgers, jambalaya, ice cream and more as well as barbeque dinners sold on Sunday,” Thibodeaux said.

The festival opens at 5 p.m. Friday and will run 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
