LC couple charged with child cruelty

<p class="p1">A Lake Charles couple were arrested on charges of cruelty to a juvenile this week after hospital staff treated their 2-month-old boy for a fractured right leg, authorities said.</p><p class="p2">Terry J. Pellegrin Jr., 32, was arrested Tuesday, and his wife, Deborah Pellegrin, was arrested Friday. Both were charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile.</p><p class="p2">Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said the Pellegrins’ stories about the baby’s injury were inconsistent. She said doctors found evidence of injuries to the baby’s skull, left leg and ribs that were beginning to heal.</p><p class="p2">Bond for Terry Pellegrin was set at $500,000. Bond for Deborah Pellegrin was set at $400,000.</p><p class="p2">The baby is being treated in an out-of-town hospital.</p>
