Welsh resident Michael Prudhomme received accolades from the town and state Tuesday for his work to name a pavilion at Richmond Park in Welsh after Cora Mae Gordon Vital, a local educator and pillar of the community. Prudhomme rode his three-wheel bicycle around Welsh requesting residents sign the petition that the pavilion be named to honor Vital. More than 1,240 signatures were received.
