Brenda Sue (Pousson) Beasley

Brenda Sue (Pousson) Beasley, 74, of Vinton, La., passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025. She was born to her late parents, Abner and Marie Pousson on Dec. 20, 1950 in Orange, Texas. She was a former member of the Catholic Daughters and was also a devout parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vinton. Brenda was an avid reader and everyone from the libraries knew her well. She was a dedicated Administrative Assistant for 30 years with Century Group in Sulphur. Brenda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going out dancing, listening to live music, or watching sporting events. She was always there for her children, and always going to their extracurricular activities. 

She is survived by her children, Jennifer Beasley of Lake Charles, La., Keith Beasley of Sulphur, La., and stepson, James Beasley of Thibodaux, La.; sister, Jean Higginbotham (Gilbert) of Lake Charles, La.; granddaughter, Darlene Beasley of Lucedale, Miss.; niece, Renee Lewis; nephews, Shane and Troy Higginbotham, and a host of great-nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

Brenda is preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, Karl Beasley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Vinton, La. on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 10 a.m., with Father Carlos Garcia officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Vinton, La. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. until the procession to the church. A private family inurnment will be held at Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles at a later date. 

The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice, especially Keely and Ashley for their exceptional care. Also, the family would like to thank Carol Chaney for her unwavering assistance with care at a moment’s notice.  Lastly, a special thanks to all who helped care for her during her last years with Alzheimer’s Disease.
