Utiliserve, a contractor hired by Waterworks District No. 5, will conduct fire hydrant inspections, flushing, and testing beginning Monday, April 28.

Testing will continue until May 12. It will ensure that all hydrants are functional and meet firefighting requirements for the district’s Property Insurance Association of Louisiana fire insurance rating.

This process may cause discolored water in the areas being flushed. If you see the Utiliserve crews in your area, limit water usage in your home, if possible. This will reduce the chance of getting discolored water in your home.

If you do experience discolored water in your home, run your tap for around two minutes to see if it clears. If this does not resolve the problem, call 337-721-3754 and the district will take steps to flush the discolored water from the lines.
