McNeese announces Spring Court 2025

McNeese State University announces Ta’Mya Davis, a business administration major from Bossier City, as Ms. McNeese, and Drew Brown, a political science and criminal justice major from DeRidder, as Mr. McNeese for Spring Court 2025.

Davis, a senior, is involved in the Student Government Association (SGA) as senator, treasurer and as a member of the Finance Budget and Judiciary committees. committees. She is a Rowdy Rider, a McNeese Ambassador and founder and president of Small Steps Mental

Health Organization. Davis is also a member of The Pride of McNeese Marching Band, Delta Sigma Pi and the Baptist Collegiate Ministry.

Brown, a senior, is the president of the SGA and the Theta Rho chapter of Kappa Sigma, and the past president of the Pre-Law and Politics Society. Brown is the student board member of the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors. He is also a Rowdy

Rider and a member of Pi Sigma Alpha and the Eta Pi Chapter of Order of Omega.

Other Spring Court members include: Allyson Treme and Andrew Dalton, freshmen; Alicia Powell and Louis Gilley, sophomores; Reagan Carmichael, Nathan Blanchard, Christabel Simon-Alade and Ademy Arilesere, juniors; and Jordyn Staton-Darbone, Stephen Wogomon II, Hannah Benoit and Bishwash Khadka, seniors.

Treme is an early childhood education major from Welsh and a member of Chi Omega. She is a freshman senator for SGA.

Dalton is a psychology major from Lake Charles and a member of the Cowboy Catholics, Biology Club and Sigma Alpha Pi. He is the Burton College of Education senator for SGA, the McNeese Mardi Gras King and director of The Big Event.

Powell is a nursing major from Lake Charles and is a member of the NAACP, Women in Leadership, Student Nursing Association, Greek Unity Board and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. She is vice president of the National Pan-Hellenic Council and a Rowdy Rider. Powell is also active in SGA where she is a clerk, nursing senator and a committee chairperson.

Gilley is from Moss Bluff and is a political science major with a concentration in pre-law. He is the vice president-elect of the SGA, secretary of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, the vice president of the Interfraternity Council and a Rowdy Rider. Gilley is a member of the Order of Omega and Cowboy Catholics.

Carmichael is an early childhood education major from Lake Charles. She is the treasurer of Educators Rising and a student director for the Student Life Coalition.

Blanchard is a biological science major with a concentration in pre-medicine from Moss Bluff. He is a two-term speaker for SGA and a Rowdy Rider. Blanchard is a member of McNeese Pre-Medicine Society, Kappa Sigma Fraternity, McNeese Honors College and McNeese Speech and Debate team.

Simon-Alade of Nigeria is a biological science major with a concentration in pre-medicine. She is the president of the African and Caribbean Student Association, a Resident Assistant, a tutor in the Writing to Excellence Center, the social media manager and editor of The Log, SGA senator for the McNeese Speech and Debate team and social media coordinator for the International Student Association. Simon-Alade is a member of the Pre-Medicine Society and is co-founder and president of the African Rhythm.

Arilesere is a finance major from Nigeria. He is vice president of Delta Sigma Pi and a member of the McNeese Speech and Debate team, International Student Association, African and Caribbean Student Association, Black Male Initiative and African Rhythm.

Staton-Darbone, from Lake Charles, is completing a Master of Business Administration graduate student with a concentration in marketing. She is a past treasurer of the McNeese Pre-Law and Politics Society, SGA Chief of Staff and past SGA vice president, president of National Pan-Hellenic Council, past vice president of the Greek Unity Board, a Rowdy Rider and secretary and president of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and a member of Eta Pi Chapter of Order of Omega and the McNeese NAACP.

Wogoman is a criminal justice major from Rosepine. He is vice president of Kappa Alpha Order, president of the Interfraternity Council and a Rowdy Rider.

Benoit, from Iota, is a psychology major with a minor in criminal justice. She is an SGA Senator and a Rowdy Rider. Benoit is a member of Calcasieu Kennel Club, Honors College, Small Steps, NAMI Peer Support Group, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and Psi Chi Honor Society.

Khadka, from Nepal, is a computer science major.

He is a student coordinator for the Student Life Coalition, SGA senator for the College of Science, Engineering and Mathematics
